TZ Capital was founded in November 2023 by Tyler Tananbaum and Sam Zuckert. Tyler and Sam have long shared a mutual passion for real estate investing and first worked together at Tishman Speyer during college. Prior to founding TZ Capital, Tyler and Sam were on the investment teams of Wexford Real Estate Partners and Related Fund Management, respectively. TZ Capital is an entrepreneurial and opportunistic investment management firm driven by the principles of integrity, partnership alignment, and a long term approach to acquiring, lending and developing the high quality real estate.
Tyler Tananbaum
Tyler Tananbaum is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of TZ Capital. At TZ Capital, Tyler is responsible for deal sourcing, underwriting, execution, and asset management across the debt and equity platforms. Prior to founding TZ Capital, Tyler was a Senior Associate on the investments and acquisitions team at Wexford Real Estate Investors LLC in West Palm Beach, FL focusing on residential and commercial investments and developments in the southeast and southwest US. Prior to that, Tyler worked at GTIS Partners in New York across a variety of real estate investment funds. Tyler graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Major and was a past President of the Wharton Undergraduate Real Estate Club. Outside of TZ Capital, Tyler, is an active tennis player, contemporary art enthusiast, and enjoys discussing politics and current affairs.
Sam Zuckert
Sam Zuckert is a co-founder and Managing Partner of TZ Capital. At TZ, Capital Sam focused on sourcing and executing credit and equity investment opportunities. Prior to founding TZ Capital, Sam was an Associate on the high-yield credit team at Related Fund Management, Related’s private equity business. During his time at Related Sam was involved in the fundraising, investment, and asset management of $2B of capital and $5B of total financings on for sale housing, multifamily, commercial, and mixed used properties throughout the US. Sam’s previous work experience included roles at one William Street Capital Management, a commercial real estate focused credit hedge fund, and Icon Realty Management, a New York City focused residential and commercial developer. Sam Graduated from USC’s Marshall School of Business in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a concentration in real estate finance.
